Board Bulletins and Subject Numbers
January 23, 2025
This spring, the Board will be implementing multifactor authentication (MFA) for accessing eCase to protect the personal information and accounts of eCase users. MFA is a security mechanism that requires users to provide additional verification information beyond a username and password to gain access to a system, application, or account.
MFA is part of the Board's continuous modernization efforts and was implemented for OnBoard last year. It is also required by New York State. MFA for eCase will use the same verification process that OnBoard uses and will be similar to other methods (e.g., texting) that users may already be familiar with in other applications such as online banking and secure email systems.
Preparing for MFA implementation
- Every eCase user in your organization must have their own account.
- eCase administrators should begin adding any users who are sharing accounts.
To register for eCase or get information about administrator responsibilities, visit the eCase Administrators page of the Board's website.
Setting up MFA for eCase
Instructions for setting up MFA for eCase will be shared through our WCB Notification emails as the implementation date gets closer. If you are not already subscribed to receive those emails, sign up at WCB Notifications.
